![]() It's hard to do when you have a memory issue, but nevertheless. They offered activities, a movie theater, a pub, a beauty shop, bingo place, and other areas where they could involve themselves, maybe with people who have similar interests. It looked very clean, I didn't see any maintenance people, and I didn't see anything broken. She told us that she would get back to us with answers to certain questions, and she followed through with that. We only saw our tour person and didn't really talk to other staff, but she was very pleasant, informative, and personable. That is what was attractive to me and to my sister. The rooms in some of the other facilities that we've seen are bigger than those rooms, but my mother currently spends almost all of her time in her room, and that's why I say the common areas which expand her living space make it more pleasant, because you're interacting with other people. The thing I liked about the memory care is that the rooms were small, but we were assured that they would be spending a lot of time, and encourage them to spend a lot of time outside of their rooms in the common areas, and so that expands her living area and contact with other people. We looked at the memory care and assisted living at Harmony at Southridge for my mom. You think you're coming up to a resort when you first come up to it. They had elevators in the building for getting to the other floors. The floors that I saw were independent living. They had a memory area that was locked off, and they had assisted living on certain floors. They had places where you could meet with medical people. They had a good-sized barber beauty area for people. They had a large room where they had religious services every week. The tour that I got at that place lasted two hours and it was very impressive. They have very large oversized bathrooms with emergency cords at the commode, at the shower, and also by the bed. They have a full kitchen, so you could make a full meal in your kitchen. It's a multistory building and most of the places have balconies. They've only been there since 2020, so they're very new. ![]() They had independent living, and they had one and two-bedroom apartments with two baths in the two-bedroom and one bath in the single bedroom. I like her a lot, she was very, very helpful.Harmony at Southridge was out of my price range. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, very informative, and she has done some follow-up calls. What's the most interesting with the assisted living was the fact they give her her medicine and she could do rehab or physical therapy there. I didn't have any food, but the menus looked very good. I like the bathrooms, the bathrooms were nice and big that if she's had to be in a wheelchair, she can manipulate with no problem. The rooms were a nice size, even the studios. This is a new place, it's only like seven years old. It was just very nice and I thought my mom would like it. They had a happy hour a couple of days a week and things like that. They had excursions, they had a movie room, they had a library and a craft room. ![]() ![]() They had a lot of things for the residents there. My sister and I joked about wanting to go there ourselves. Harmony at Harbour View was very, very nice. If your two-bedroom started at $3500 and if you got a spouse, then it went up another $1200 or $700 for the spouse to be there. It was pricier than the other place and what turns my wife off to all of them, not just this one, is the fact that you have to pay for your spouse. They had one-bedroom or two-bedroom, and they had a studio. The units that she showed us were very clean, ready to move in, and accommodating. They had a calendar that showed whatever was going on that week that we could participate in. Everybody that worked there, if they walked past or whatever, they spoke to you. They spoke to you and acknowledged that you were there. We also had an opportunity to have lunch to be able to taste the food. The young lady who showed us around was very knowledgeable and friendly. The staff was very willing to help and to assist. We liked the fact that Harmony at Harbour View was very clean when we went in.
